Covent Garden Acoustic Performance Enhancement
To an existing themed meeting room of a global IT company, we were tasked with improving the acoustics of the space. There was considerable sound leakage from various elements of the previous build and staff were unhappy with the room. Commercial Workspace Consultants Ltd met with an independent acoustic consultant and an air services consultant to survey what enhancements could be achieved. A full report was submitted, along with a multi-page design and logistics specification. Several incremental price point options were tabled and one chosen by the client. This was priced and then approved. With very close liaison to the concierge team we carried out underfloor and wall enhancements, underfloor attenuation, acoustic packing, deflective grilles and other minor rectification works. On top of this, it was decided to replace 2 sets of single glazed doors with ‘FYOTTO’ aluminium framed, sound tight, double glazed doors and frames – complete with drop down threshold seal upon closure. The staff and the client are now very much happier with the room’s performance. All completed with no disruption, dust or complaints.
